CrowdStrike launched a new partner specialisation and a "Verified Agent" certification aimed at securing what it calls the agentic enterprise, businesses increasingly run with the help of AI agents. As agents gain the ability to act, not just answer, they become a new thing to secure, because software that can take actions can also take harmful ones if misused.
Certifications like this are an early sign that AI agents are being treated as serious infrastructure, with the oversight that implies.
What it means: an AI agent given real access, to send email, move money or change records, needs the same guardrails as a new employee: limited permissions, an audit trail and a way to revoke access. Any agent a business adopts should be judged not only on what it can do but on how tightly its actions can be controlled.
