The Robot Report says Gentherm Medical has designed ThermAffyx, a system that both secures and warms patients during robot-assisted surgery.
The system is based on thermal management experience from the automotive industry and avoids forced-air equipment while taking up little space. Gentherm launched it at the AORN Global Surgical Conference, citing medical professionals who told it that almost all of their robotics patients are hypothermic.
