At its Dreamforce 2026 conference, Salesforce unveiled AIforce, a new AI layer for its platform, and Headless 360, which lets its software be used without the traditional on-screen interface so that AI agents can drive it directly. "Headless" software exposes its functions to other programs rather than to a human clicking buttons.
The design reflects a shift in enterprise software toward being operated by AI agents as much as by people, with the human screen becoming one option rather than the only door.
What it means: the systems a business already pays for are increasingly built to be driven by AI. Before buying a new AI tool, it is worth checking whether the software you own has added agent features you can switch on, which is cheaper than adding another product.
